Here is my take on the First amendment This basically means that the Congress cannot: 1. establish a National Religion, (like the Church of England) 2. Prevent Freedom of Speech 3. Stop you from writing what you wish to write. 4. prevent peaceful gatherings (be it at home, Church or in Public) 5. prevent you from petitioning the Government to fix grievances. (example: Bad legislation) After reading the First Amendment and my explanation of it, does this sound correct? or am I actually missing something? I appreciate any and all comments.
