Here is one of two blogs Im going to upload..... Welcome aboard your Disney Dream cruise ship......I hope you have a magical vacation.......listen up everyone....you are now on vacation somebody make some noise!!! These are the phrases in which have been ingrained in my brain.....along with the Disney point....which is two fingers to point to show a guest something. You can tell I am now working for Disney as I say things like have a magical cruise or when I am out of my rosters hours and I still use two fingers to point to things. Wow these last couple of cruises have been interesting. In these last two cruises we have had the christmas cruise which was magical in itself....and the New Years cruise. Like I previously mentioned it was my first Christmas away from home. The time difference was an interesting test of how I could cope with Christmas. It was like I was celebrating Christmas twice.....only I didnt feel like it....so I rang home the day before the states had Christmas. When I rang home my family were all gathered doing various jobs, such as cooking lunch. This made me cry as at the same time the previous year I was home doing what they were doing. I finished work early and decided that I would make the most of this magical night. I went out and explored the ship again but with my friends and we took more photos. It was so lovely hanging out and taking photos in one of the most magical places on earth. I was still pinching myself to think how I got there. Christmas morning rolled around and I was opening the space. I must admit that even though I had said it was a magical place I still felt like it was a normal day....it was the first time ever I have had to work on Christmas Day.....I did have a few tears when I got my Christmas dinner; it just wasnt the Christmas dinner I was expecting......and so I cried.....I missed my family and our meals that we have on this day. But after that moment of sadness I decided it was Christmas and decided to make the most of it..so I met with my friends again and this time we went And sung Christmas songs in the lobby. This was great as I was able to see all of the Disney characters as they waved good bye to the guests for that cruise. Then it was back to normal for a cruise.....heading to Nassau then castaway cay then back to port canaveral again. This next cruise was the New Years cruise......this one was a big cruise for me in so many ways. It was the first time I had been away from nz ever and especially at a special time. This cruise the itinerary changed just a little bit we had a sea day in between Nassau and castaway cay. So the cruise ship was sailing around on New Years Eve. I was working up until midnight which was fine....as I still got to experience my first new year celebration. The nursery team gathered in and watched the clock count down the new year. For me the last time I did this was in a bar in Wellington with my oldest and dearest friend not knowing how much my life would change for that year. I had no plans to travel at that stage of that year. So its funny how things can change in a matter of time that can affect the life that you lead. I never thought that I would be in another country working for the Disney company on one of their magical cruise ships. I have had highs and some lows but as this new year comes in I have decided that it is going to be a year filled with memories that will last a life time. I have set not resolutions (because really who follows them after about three days??? I know I dont!!). But I have set adventures of my life in 2015!! So these include * maintaining a gym routine * making eating choices better * when the alarm goes off get up not close my eyes *take more Photos of people and the environment surrounding me *have a photo and autograph with each Disney character and ent host *visit new places and try their food * buy things from these places *take photos with Mickeys and Minnie in these new places *continue my blog writing *save money *gain confidence in myself which will lead me to loving myself a bit more Lets see what I have achieved in about a years time? Bring on 2015!!!
