Here is part 2 of my Suss story. I begged a ride and reached the HVPolice Station at 8.45 a.m armed with a book to read. I sat on the verandah and read until other elderly and some not elderly folk began to arrive at about 9 a.m. Interestingly, the TAX Office &/or KSAC reps. arrived at 10 15 a.m after their announcement that they would be there from 10 a.m. Not bad really (who is ever on time in Jamaica?) except that it was then announced that nothing could get started because the cashier (essential for writing the receipts) had not yet arrived. She sauntered in at 10.40 a.m. drinking a boxed juice Much time was taken setting up her paraphernalia, and as I was the first in line, I got though at roughly 11.a.m . And so ends the saga of paying your property tax in Jamaica, particularly if you are in the over 70 bracket. Until next year then... unless the IMF claims all our properties as restitution for unpaid loans from their fund... DWL
