Awful, isnt it? I cant comprehend a fantastic small business owner -- is the small business fantastic or is the owner fantastic or both? I hope both! You may even know them is so incredibly condescending and just plain weird. Even in superficial poser Los Angeles businessland, I dont think anyone would get that excited about seeing a familiar business owner on a panel. Even if it was Ben and Jerry on stage, I wouldnt be zazzed, would you?. And they wrap up the sentence you may even know them and patronize their businesses with an exclamation point at the end. An exclamation point! After the verb patronize! Ugh, so ... 9th grade student council publicity manager.
