Here is some pretty neat technology. A clear sheet was printed from a 3D printer using model reference from a google sketch-up model; And then subjected to a light source that tracks the position, rotation and angle of the clear structure to apply the image to its points properly, resulting in a hologram! To all of whom thinks this is an amazing step; I regret to inform you that all of these systems have been capable of doing this for a while, but rather then a 3D printed surface it would have been a machined one.
