What you failed to do, however, was include the rest of the passage which continues what Christ was saying In verses 9 and 10 Christ continues saying " Do not take along any gold or silver or copper in your belts. Take no bag for the journey, or extra tunic, or sandals or a staff; FOR THE WORKER IS WORTH HIS KEEP. I talk all the time that your greatest mistake is either reading the Bible in little bits and pieces but not in context or letting someone think they can teach you but has no idea what they are talking about. That whole string of "teaching" was riddled with errors like that and makes any point you were trying to make invalid
