Here is something to consider: People all over town are fed up. Change at the council horseshoe is needed and most wont disagree with that. Everybody has their own opinions and some have been engaging this very council since its inception. People can make up their own minds if they choose to look further or just ignore some of the heated exchanges. One thing is for sure, the EDTC has made a lasting impression on everyone. Some people dont like the GM of the EDTC, some adore him. Some could care less as long as they see some sort of results in economic activity and tourism. That is where I fit that criteria and I make no bones about it. Thibert is not up for election nor is he a politician and he does not need a fan club nor support from any candidate nor from me or you. His resume and accomplishments speak for themselves and are at everyones discretion whenever anyone feels like talking to him and his open door policy is and always be intact. Some think I have a change in my feelings towards the EDTC and their GM. I havent changed my stance on the only entity providing a voice for new economic activity and I sure dont see it at town hall these days. Thibert is a commodity and well respected in the economic development community and that is all the matters most. Back to the folks that I see and hear everyday: I always engage people and ask them about certain people in the public realm. Tonight I asked another long time race horse owner about the GM of the EDTC as he candidly agrees that Thibert is brilliant but most people at the race track do not care for his personality and there wouldnt be a fan club there anytime soon. But most do acknowledge his stewardship and resolve? You are darned right they do. People need to separate the personality from the occupation and most cannot and they are most likely supporters of the usual four town councillors that cannot measure up to guy who could care less if he is liked or not in town . Ask him and he will tell you straight away, he does not intend to have a fan club nor needs one to do his job. From what I hear from certain developers and industrialists, he is what is needed right now and he needs a council that knows their role as OPEN FOR BUSINESS ............
