Here is the Windsor Arts Council Presidents Message from Peter Turk: July Presidents Message We recently held our first member meeting of the summer and shared out new artwork with those members attending. It was a well-attended meeting and everyone enjoyed sharing their artwork and catching up. Our next event will be August 26th at the Senior Center. Viki Stokette will be doing a presentation on quilling, a very unique and beautiful form of artwork using paper. We have applied for space at the Finley center in Santa Rosa for a Windsor Arts Council art show. It will be in the Simons Gallery in the Person Senior Wing October 6th through December 5th. The space will be limited to art that can hang, so it will not be open to 3D work. I am putting out a request to members to let me know if you are interested in participating in this event. We will have a limited amount of space available and we will most likely jury the pieces to pick the pieces to hang. We will need to have digital copies of your artwork for consideration, as well as to supply them to the Finley Center. You must be a paid up member to participate in this event. As we get closer we’ll update you on the plans for the event opening. We are planning to liquidate the Arts Council inventory that is currently being maintained in a storage locker. The inventory will be initially available to sustaining and supporting members. Please contact me if you are interested in seeing an inventory of what we have available. We plan to have the locker cleaned out by the end of August. We have also been updating our website with the support of Kathy White. It has a fresh new look. Please take the time to go visit it. If you are showing your work or plan to be showing soon please let Kathy or I know so that we can post it to the website. We also would like to post any shows or art related events that are upcoming. I encourage you to rejoin the Arts Council if you haven’t paid your membership dues. It is a great opportunity to share with fellow artists. I hope to see you at our future events.
