Here is the actual video of the arrest of Eric Garner. The police officer (and other officers) that subdued him were cleared of all charges. I just thought I would point this part out in an article I read.... The Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Garner’s death a homicide caused by “compression of neck (chokehold), compression of chest and prone positioning during physical restraint by police.” Police union leaders denied that Pantaleo used a chokehold — which is banned by the NYPD — and blasted the autopsy as part of a “political” witch hunt. Now, if the Medical Examiner stated it was compression of the neck (and you can clearly see the chokehold in the video) and the NYPD states chokeholds are banned, then why is this not going to trial? If you use a banned tactic and someone is killed, you should be held responsible. While I have understood some of the rulings in the past, this one is just wrong.
