Here is the consolidated report on stranded passengers/vessels/rolling cargoes in different ports of the country due to rough sea condition caused by Tropical Storm “Amang” as of 8 AM today, 17 January. 1) Coast Guard District NCR-CL Manila – 2,096 2) Coast Guard District Eastern Visayas Catbalogan Port-1,192 Maasin Port-45 Ormoc Port- 71 3) Coast Guard District Bicol Albay- 714 Sorsogon- 1,935 Masbate- 75 4) Coast Guard District Northern Mindanao Cagayan De Oro- 26 Butuan- 91 5) Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog Batangas- 234 A total of 6,483 passengers, 32 vessels, 8 motor bancas and 451 rolling cargoes at port were reported stranded caused by Tropical Storm “Amang”. PCG Units are advised to ensure the strict implementation of HPCG Memorandum Circular Number 02-13 (Guidelines on the Movement of Vessels during Heavy Weather).
