Here is the esteemed panel of Judges for the Rocky Mountain Choreography Festival 2014. PAMELA ROBINSON-HARRIS Principal Ballet Mistress – Ballet West Pamela Robinson-Harris has served as Ballet Mistress for the Company for nearly 15 years, and also served as Interim Artistic Director of Ballet West from 2006-2007. Her vast ballet career began with the Cleveland Ballet, where she danced for three years before joining the State of Alabama Ballet in 1982, followed by Ballet Mississippi in 1984. Pamela joined Ballet West in 1985 and advanced to Principal artist in 1988. During her career, Pamela performed in some of the most prestigious theatres in America, including Wolf Trap and The Kennedy Center. She is noted for her role of Anna in Anna Karenina, and has performed principal roles in The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Giselle, Rosalinda, Lady of the Camellias and John Butlers Carmina Burana, as well as dancing principal roles in ballets by George Balanchine, Val Caniparoli, Frederick Ashton and Ben Stevenson, to name a few. Pamela was asked to co-choreograph two ballets for the Ballet West Family Series. She and Nevada Ballet Theater’s Ballet Mistress Peggy Dolkas created The Little Mermaid in 2012 and Aladdin in 2013. She was also enlisted by Artistic Director Adam Sklute to rework the Prologue and Act 2 of The Sleeping Beauty, in February of 2011 and Acts 2 & 4 of Swan Lake, in February of 2010. Pamela has choreographed for BWII, and the Ballet West Pre-Professional Trainee Division. Pamela guest teaches across the country, most recently teaching at Regional Dance America’s 52nd Annual National Choreography Intensive. Brent Schneider As a ten year member of Repertory Dance Theatre, Professor Schneider has served as dancer, rehearsal director, administrator and trustee. He has performed and choreographed in many dance styles including ethnic, ballroom, musical theatre, tap, jazz and ballet. He has been a faculty member for Weber State University, American College Dance Festivals, Regional Dance America Choreography Conferences and has taught and choreographed extensively for dance and theater companies. He recently taught a two-week intensive for the Central American and Caribbean Modern Dance Festival hosted by the Universidad Nacional in Heredia, Costa Rica, and choreographed a work for the university. Professor Schneider teaches technique, composition, pedagogy, liberal education courses, folk forms, and is co-director of the department’s acclaimed Performing Dance Company, for which he also choreographs. Oswaldo Muniz Oswaldo Muniz trained at the school of American Ballet on scholarship. He went on to dance professionally with the rank of principal under Edward Villella in the Eglevsky Ballet, Ballet Oaklahoma and Edward Villela and Dancers. Richmond Ballet, Ballet Chicago, and the Garden State Ballet. He has performed with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet and has been a guest artist with many other companies. Mr. Muniz has toured Italy, France, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Australia, Argentina, Brazil and other places. He has been designing and executing costumes for many years and has since become a sought after designer. He has created costumes for many top dancers and companies. His miniature tutus have been sold by the New York City Ballet Guild at the State Theatre and re widely collected by connoisseurs of fine craft. Mr. Muniz has received excellent notices in magazines and newspapers including the New York Times. His work has been seen in magazine print ads, such as Vogue and Women’s Sport Illustrated. His designs for American figure skater and gold medal winner Sarah Hughes were featured on ABC television where he was filmed creating and executing the costumes for her. A gown commissioned in the 20’s style with a panier skirt was photographed for Martha Stewart Wedding Magazine. It has been a pleasure for him to work with Imagine Ballet Theatre as a teacher, Choreographer and Costume Designer.
