Here is the feedback on what happened today. I drove alongside both rising pipelines this morning hoping to find a major leak. I found nothing big just a few very small leaks. Recently the municipality attended to all major leaks. I needed to find an answer to what could contribute to the shortage of water and went to the purification plant. After getting permission from the municipal manager as they do not really want me to go there I found that the inlet of the plant received enough water for the plants capacity. There had to be another problem. Then I was told that last night they discovered a valve that was faulty in the sand filtration process. It resulted in a 10% loss over a 24 hour period, which is a lot of water. The municipality contacted a contractor and by 14h00 this valve fas fixed! Then came the rain and hopefully it did stop people using sprinklers for the rest of the day. Please save water and think about people in the high areas not having water at all before you use a sprinkler. Regards Saal de Jager Ngwathe Water Forum
