Here is the latest on our friend Curtis who is in the hospital in Denver. The following is from a post from his wife Jennifer. ...Long story short he is going to have a metal pelvis....Right now his pelvis is not even attached to his spine. I freaked and asked if he would ever walk again and the doctors are very confident that he will. But it will be a long haul. The orthopedic surgeon said it was one of the worst pelvic injury she has seen but she is very confident that everything will go well. His surgery to reconstruct the pelvis will be Friday and should be about 6-7 hours. He will have a new gnarly scar on his abdomen to add to his collection. Lots of risks bleeding and internal organ damage because of all of the hardware that will be in his pelvis. And...they just called again while I was typing this, they are putting in a central line...I am really starting to get overwhelmed and I hope they dont call me again asking for more consent and telling me risks... — feeling depressed. Curtis wife Jennifer is in Denver and will be for a while. Fortunately, my sister also lives in Denver and Jennifer will be staying with her for a while.
