Here is the obituary for our Facebook page. Soon Facebook for business pages will be at 1% reach, according to reports, to encourage businesses to pay to reach their fans. Not to reach new people, but to reach people whove expressed an interest in seeing their posts by liking their page. 4 years of building to 7286 likers was a pointless exercise it seems. I thank every single one of you for liking our page, but when you did like our page, as I assume you wanted to see our work, it didnt mean anything to Mark Zuckerberg. What does this mean? If we post a photo, you wont see it. In fact, you wont actually see this post either so not much point in even writing it. 70 people will see our photos as FB tightens their reach, so the chances of YOU seeing one of our photos over the next few months is going to get to 1 in a 100. Thank you for liking our page, and for liking our work enough to do so. Well miss your comments and likes and can only hope youll specifically visit our page here and there, or visit our website. RIP Facebook. You were once a useful tool, but if we are going to pay for advertising (to our own fans) there are an infinite amount of better options for our advertising dollars than you are. We will continue to post of course, but well not be paying $50-100 per photo, so you guys will see it in your feed, so you will see almost nothing from us in future sadly. Our site and blog however has thousands of photos on it. deanagar.au Dean and Karen
