Here is the official report from Riverside Sheriffs on yesterdays fatal accident on Railroad Canyon Rd. near Blackhorse Dr. In this report, the vicim has not been named, but our deepest condolences to all involved. On Friday, April 25, 2014, at 09:52 AM, officers from the Canyon Lake Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle versus bicyclist collision on Railroad Canyon Rd. A 61-year-old male bicyclist from Menifee, CA attempted to cross the eastbound lanes from the raised concrete median. The bicyclist was struck by a gray Honda Civic in the number one lane. Although the bicyclist was wearing a helmet, he sustained major head trauma and internal injuries. He was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The Canyon Lake Traffic Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene. The driver of the Honda, 21-year-old Dylan Fisher of Yucaipa, was interviewed and released. A portion of the eastbound lanes of Railroad Canyon were closed during the investigation and were re-opened at 2:40 PM. The deceased bicyclist’s name is being withheld pending notification to his family.
