Here is the repeated conversation when we go out ... Are they both your children? -Yes they are. What is the age gap? -They are twins Oh - but he is a lot bigger than him. Who is the oldest? - Him. Oh, I thought the other one would be older because he is bigger. -They are twins so it doesnt really matter who was born first. They were born 3 min apart. They are just different people and are different sizes. Are they identical? No They remind me of my my mothers fathers sisters cousin who has twins. Do twins run in you family? (Or another good one is - which side of the family do twins run in ) Did they skip a generation or are they every generation ? It is nice that these people are friendly. And Im sure they are just making conversation. But this repeated (a few times a week) conversation is usually in front of our boys. - yes there is a size difference but it is not something we feel we need to highlight over and over to them - yes one is 3 mins older than the other but this is not an important part of who they are - why to people want to quiz is about our family history? It starts to get a bit personal. 99% of the time these people are retailers (today) or someone we bump into at the park- we will never see them again. They do not need this level of insight into our family. I do not want to be rude but this barrage of questions just keeps turning over. So 2 reasons for posting this.... 1) if you meet someone with twins (or more) try not to ask these questions (or say double trouble ... Or you must have your hands full) 2) feel free to give me some suggestions of how to stop these questions without being rude. - perhaps I need to get better at quickly changing the subject
