Here is the way it goes: Severe pain developed in lower abdomen and back Go to doctor – Dr. “you need an X-ray” - billed by doctor Doctor arrived over hour late for first appointment of the day Have x-ray – read by radiologist - billed by radiologist 2nd doctors visit – Dr. “possible kidney stone – now need CAT scan” - billed by doctor CAT scan read by radiologist - billed by radiologist 3rd doctors visit – pain had subsided – Dr. “stone must have passed” – billed by doctor Insurance pays portion, patient billed for deductible and amount not covered by insurance. Do you think the Health Industry needs regulated? Should doctors be able to read medical test results?
