Here is what is NOT OKAY to dump in the Gardens compost - TopicsExpress

Here is what is NOT OKAY to dump in the Gardens compost bin: Diseased or pest-infested plants, weeds that have gone to seed, carnivore manure (dog, cat), glossy or heavily-colored paper, Bermuda grass, used cat litter, meat, fat, bones, dairy, any food with grease or oil in it, food wrappers, thorny stems(such as roses or our palo verde. Have pity on me!), anything made of wood, metal, or plastic, (such as garden stakes, plant ties, netting). Throw the sick plants in the big trash bins up front. Put corn and sunflower stalks, woody plants, mature okra plants and tree branches in the big-thing pile at the very back of the compost area. Thanks! Michelle
