Here is why I love House of Cards: it is an artistic presentation, from its soundtrack (I used to listen to/love Jeff Beals music when I was a college kid) all the way through to its story and character development. There are surprises at almost every turn. Yet, when you think about it, they all make sense, because of the way they have set up each character, and how everyone is intertwined (sometimes literally!) Yes - maybe the characters arent likable, and yes, maybe they are stretching the truth (I can only make assumptions about Washington), but I think it is really well done. I think there are artistic lessons to be derived that can be applied to music and composing. This is why I like to turn to other arts for inspiration. Id be interested to hear other viewpoints, if you like or dislike the show.
