Accept People As They Are ROMANS 15:7 NIV 7 Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. We have only two choices, accept people, or reject them. When you realize this, it may change the way you treat people. When we criticize or condemn people, we communicate rejection. When we try to change people, it communicates that they are not good enough for us, that we dont like them. But what if they are not perfect? What if they dont believe everything I believe? Were you born believing all you do now? Or did you go through a process of learning over time? Should we throw out people because they still have something to learn? What happens when you dont accept people as they are? It feeds the lie that they are no good and have no value. We can accept people and celebrate their value without approving of their sins. But when we refuse to accept people until they are perfect, we communicate rejection. When someone feels rejected, they tend to reject those who reject them, and what they represent. So when Christians communicate rejection to sinners, they assume God is rejecting them, and tend to reject God because they think He rejects them. Whenever you reject someone, you have set yourself up as their judge, something only God is truly qualified to do. To walk with Jesus you will have to treat people as Jesus would treat them. You may not like the way they look, talk, act, think, or smell, but if they are a human being you must acknowledge that Jesus Christ loves them enough to die for them. Jesus is our perfect example, and He is not rejecting people (John 6:37). Instead, the Bible reveals that Jesus Christ is our Advocate, (our defense lawyer), not the one who condemns (1 John 2:1, Romans 8:34). People are hurting. Usually they know they need to change, to be better, and to do better. What they have not discovered is a way they can change. They have probably tried, but given up in defeat. Only Gods unconditional love can give them the strength they need to have hope. Most people realize that if they must earn Gods help there is no hope for them. This is the main reason why so many people shun Christianity and want to have nothing to do with God. They have accepted a wrong image of God, thinking He is a stern Judge who is against them, instead of realizing the truth that He is a loving Father like the father in the story of the Prodigal Son that Jesus told us about in Luke 15:11-32. God accepts people as they are. So should we. Christ died for the ungodly (Romans 5:6). God so loved the world that He gave. People crave love. Unconditional love will draw people. It is Gods goodness that leads people to repent (Romans 2:4). Every time we meet someone, we are faced with a choice: love them -- or judge them, accept them as they are -- or attempt to change them, make them feel respected -- or despised, make them feel valuable and precious -- or make them feel worthless. You might as well accept people as they are instead of trying to change them. You cant change people anyway. Only God can really change people. Our job is to love them and help them. Also remember that God made people to be different. So dont expect everyone will be exactly like you. SAY THIS: I will accept people and love them with Gods love. Cuando criticamos o condenar a la gente, nos comunicamos rechazo. Cuando tratamos de cambiar a la gente, se comunica que no son lo suficientemente bueno para nosotros, que no nos gusta de ellos. Pero lo que si no son perfectos? ¿Qué pasa si ellos no creen todo lo que creo? ¿Nació usted creyendo todo lo que haces ahora? ¿O es que usted va a través de un proceso de aprendizaje en el tiempo? ¿Hay que tirar la gente porque todavía tienen algo que aprender? ¿Qué sucede cuando usted no acepta las personas como son? Se alimenta la mentira de que ellos no son buenos y no tienen valor. Podemos aceptar a la gente y celebrar su valor sin aprobar de sus pecados. Pero cuando nos negamos a aceptar a las personas hasta que son perfectas, nos comunicamos rechazo. Cuando alguien se siente rechazado, tienden a rechazar a aquellos que rechazarlas, y lo que representan. Así que cuando los cristianos comunicar el rechazo a los pecadores, ellos asumen que Dios está rechazando ellos, y tienden a rechazar a Dios porque piensan Rechaza ellos. Cada vez que se rechaza a alguien, usted se ha fijado como su juez, algo que sólo Dios es verdaderamente calificado para hacerlo. Para caminar con Jesús, tendrá que tratar a la gente como lo haría Jesús tratarlos. Puede no gustarle la forma de mirar, hablar, actuar, pensar, ni oler, pero si es un ser humano que debe reconocer que Jesucristo los ama lo suficiente como para morir por ellos. Jesús es nuestro ejemplo perfecto, y Él no está rechazando la gente (Juan 6:37). En cambio, la Biblia revela que Jesucristo es nuestro Abogado, (nuestro abogado defensor), no el que condena (1 Juan 2:01, Romanos 8:34). La gente está sufriendo. Por lo general, saben que tienen que cambiar, ser mejor, y para hacerlo mejor. Lo que no han descubierto es una manera se puede cambiar. Probablemente han intentado, pero teniendo en cuenta en derrota. Sólo el amor incondicional de Dios puede darles la fuerza que necesita tener esperanza. La mayoría de las personas se dan cuenta que si ellos deben ganar La ayuda de Dios, no hay esperanza para ellos. Esta es la razón principal por la que muchas personas rechazan el cristianismo y quieren tener nada que ver con Dios. Han aceptado una imagen equivocada de Dios, pensando que es un juez severo que está en contra de ellos, en lugar de darse cuenta de la verdad de que Él es un Padre amoroso como el padre de la historia del hijo pródigo que Jesús nos habló en Lucas 15:11-32. Dios acepta a las personas tal como son. Así debemos hacerlo nosotros. Cristo murió por los impíos (Romanos 5:6). Tanto amó Dios al mundo, que ha dado. La gente ansía el amor. El amor incondicional atraerá a la gente. Es La bondad de Dios que lleva a la gente al arrepentimiento (Romanos 2:4). Cada vez que nos encontramos con alguien, nos enfrentamos a una elección: el amor ellos - o juzgarlos, aceptarlos tal como son - o intentan modificarlos, hacer que se sientan respetados - o despreciado, hacerlos sienten valioso y precioso - o hacer que se sientan sin valor. Es lo mismo que aceptar a las personas tal como son en lugar de tratar para cambiarlas. No se puede cambiar a la gente de todos modos. Sólo Dios puede realmente cambiar a la gente. Nuestro trabajo es amarlos y ayudarlos. Asimismo, recuerda que Dios hizo a la gente a ser diferente. Así que no esperar todo el mundo será exactamente igual a ti.
