Here we are again, August 9 Today makes it 43 years since my beloved dad was called home to his maker. So many things I wish he had stayed around long enough to see me do with my life. I always admired all my friends when they shared their success with their dads, but it hurt me badly when my dad was not there to enjoy mine. I have very few memories of him because I was so young when he left, but I during the little time we shared, he made me believe that I could achieve anything I wanted to if I worked hard enough. He taught me respect, discipline and compassion. My dad was my friend, hero and mentor. Not a day goes by without me thinking about him and wondering if my life would have been different had he lived longer. I hope I have made you proud dad. I miss you badly. Continue to Rest in Peace.
