Here we are with only one more night of two shows to go (Friday 31st). Trial by Jury has been a (mostly) wonderful opportunity to return to the boards for me. It is true I felt under-rehearsed as we began, but it has turned out to be an utter joy to work with great talent and commitment. It is a privilege to be working with John X. and our consistent full houses are no doubt due, in large measure, to his skill and shear pulling power. A joy also to work with all those others with whom I am pictured as part of the Principles cast. Such talent as Grace Ovens, (best local Soprano I have heard since my friend Valerie Pennefather and my own beloved Robby), Jeames Bone, our directors Anna and Georgia both of who create such wonderful business and the owner of the beautiful Soprano range (who so upstages me: the Usher; in the call for Angelina) Mel Betts. I am also thrilled with the chorus who have come together to make great sound and great response to my efforts, as Usher, to engage with them, Great to find some Brians (Bases from the TSO Chorus) also. Again, I say I am thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this production and, further, and most importantly with the Musical Direction of Andrew Morrisby. Thanks Andrew for your ongoing musical support and encouragement. Thanks to all involved for your welcome and inclusion in this part of Hobarts theatre scene. Lets finish it off in style and for the Hobart G and S Society also.
