Here we go again.....another time of uncertainty for all the retired folks in this country as the Republican controlled Congress is once again trying to hold everyone hostage by threatening to shut down the Federal government. I realize they hate anything this ( or any non Republican) President tries to do, but another credit rating downgrade is a rather serious and likely costly thing and likely would be caused if the nations bills already in place are not paid. They could of course fight new spending but the debt ceiling is for bills from past wars and other things already contracted for. I agree we need to tighten the spending trend which should include any pay raises for Congress and others as well as holding the line on any new war spending and as quickly as possible we need to be out of Afghanistan. Happily it appears the Syrian war cost will not happen so that is some progress.
