Here we go, the moment weve all been waiting for! The 2014 CBA FINAL 4 is finally here!!! #WhereDreamsWillBeCrushed and #GreatnessWillBeAchieved Final elimination games were another epic week. Starting off we had Pink vs. White with the older Basily brother coming as a special consultant to head coach Nagy Wassef to try to guide the younger Basily brother to the final 4. The game started with hard fought basketball by last years MVP Josh Gorgy and John Julian attacking relentlessly at every opening they saw being led by Bishoi Attia and although it looked like it was gonna be a good game the pink team put it all on the line fighting for their playoff lives. Christopher Shafik kept himself out of foul trouble and dominated the paint on both ends of the court. Joe Basily, the rookie point gaurd, didnt hold back anything as he kept racking up the points for his team and giving them a comfortable lead to advance to the final 4 in dominating fashion, advancing to play the defending champion duo of Anthony Sidaros and Coach Dewey. The SUS Diocese offices have, Yellow team as the heavy favorite to win this series on 12:1 odds. Next we had Orange vs. Grey also considered one of the most exciting games in CBA history....so far. Orange team doctors gave George Attalla the green light to start at center and Mina Hanna didnt hesitate to start him. George didnt skip a beat, coming back where he left off, dominating the boards, putbacks, and protecting the rim. With the help of Kyeros offense and Anthony Rafailes solid defense it looked like Orange was going to wrap up the final spot in the final 4. With about a minute left, Orange up by 4, Micho bailed Marco Moner out of a double team and took the pass into an iso play, dribbled around the arc and pulled up for the in his eye J over Tonton to bring his team within 2. Orange team then held onto the ball and tried to run out the clock for the remainder of the game but they lost patience and got careless by trying to score. Grey got the rebound and Mina Malek immediately called a time out to draw up a play with 24 seconds left to try to tie or win it all. The play worked flawlessly as Marco dribbled around an incredible pick from Pishoi Rafaile, drove in to the lane, drew the double team and found a wide open Chris Mikhail aka Diamonds underneath the basket for the easy lay up. The score now being tied the game went into overtime and Grey carried their momentum from the last couple of minutes at the end of regulation and pulled out the win to advance to the final 4 to play Mina Makram Iskander and his sharp shooting wrecking crew offensive schemes of the Blue team. Now we go to the sell out crowd games of the girls. Green remained undefeated without so much as a bump stopping them from going in to the final 4 as the 1st seed. First year head coach Michael Dimitri has his team playing in tip top shape and doesnt look to let up on the gas at any point anytime soon. They will be playing the team currently in the worst winning drought in CBA history, Blue. Sylvia Rafail had everyone on the edge of their seat during Blues last game having them believe that they were finally going to claim their first victory but they came up just a bit short. Now Blue teams coaching staff has to figure out how to stop the two time MVP Monica Hanna as shes looking to 3peat. The next match up features the defending champion head coach Mena Kamel trying to lead his new young team to the finals to capture the championship but it wont be an easy task as they have to play rookie coach David Kaldas and his hard fighting Black team. For the mens league we had the defending champions Maroon team avenge their back to back regular season losses to Yellow team by pulling out the win in a very close 1 point game. Maroon will now go on to play the Red team and the splash brothers Samuel Younan and Mark Farag. Black team finally pulled away from Grey team at the end of regulation due to a couple of mistimed technicals and they go on to play the smash mouth, flying v, diamond jewelers, raining 3s, excessive celebrating, White team.
