Here we have Jesus further expounding on the necessity of the New birth. Its congruent with being Born of the Spirit. Those who are born again are Born of the Spirit. A few things to consider. 1. The prophecy of Ezekiel 36:26-27 is opened up. In there we read what God is going to do. I will put my Spirit in you, says the Lord. 2. How is this manifested in Christians? Jesus said in John 16:8 that when the Spirit of truth comes He will convict (convince) the world of sin. The Spirit gives believers a distaste for sin. They see who God is and what sin is and they develop the mind of Him. What He dislikes they dislike what He likes they like. Jesus said you must experience this to enter the kingdom. 3. This coincides what God said would happen when His Spirit converts a sinner and brings them to repentance and faith. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. (Ezekiel 36:27 NKJV) 4. Has this happened to you? Have you been born of the Spirit? God will give anyone His Spirit freely if they ask with a sincere heart. 5. Repentance and faith are the manifested fruit of a Born again believer. 6. Everyone who truly repents truly believes and anyone who truly believes and repents has been Born again. Subtract any of these three qualities from your religion and there is no heaven for you. Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again. (John 3:5-7 NKJV)
