Here we have a coalition government and soon we all will be hearing about the up and coming general election. So what have we got so far? A change in the planning laws, community involvement, and neighbourhood hood plans. What have we seen in the past four years in just one district within one Bough Council? Proposed development and applied for on green fields, common and playing fields as prime development sites and getting approval for change of use and an increase in land value! This has been the way forward and is the planned way forward from what has been presented and passed and approved in some cases. No one has drawn a line! That is no one has been able to stop the change of use, as you may be able to stop one development on the land but once it has been given permission it can be used for development, they will keep coming back with proposals. This we all have seen and it must feel at times to local people that they are being bombarded with change from all directions just seeing green spaces going all around them in the future. And this is what the past four years has had to bring and the next five years into the future from the look of it. What have you got to look forward to? Road congestion, flooding, more accidents just waiting to happen, no industry to provide local employment so commuting traffic and an increase on peak time traffic on existing main roads, also an increase in capacity required and burden on existing main sewer systems, and power supply. But this is the way forward?
