Here ya go...home pass details for those who couldnt make the meeting. We have lots to share so pay close attention: Home Pass Checkout this Friday, 10/10/14, is by platoon: Wolfpack / Chargers: 7:30 am SHARP line up at the school bldg You will attend a traditional type open house, visit classrooms, teachers and get report cards (woo hoo on the BEST report card they have probably ever received in high school). Be sure to get your orange I attended open house card from the school staff before you come over to Sunburst. 9:30 am go to grass area behind Sunburst to your cadets counselor. If parent / guardian cant be there, you must previously provide (in writing) the authorized person to sign out your cadet. Proper ID will be required. Wolfpack / Chargers will be released to you around 10 am. Panthers / Firehawks: 9:30 am SHARP line up at the school bldg (same process as above). 11:30 am go to grass area to your cadets counselor to sign out your cadet (same as above). Panthers / Firehawks will be released to you around 12 noon. ALL CADETS return Monday at 5 pm sharp. The staff will be watching for those who come late!! Dont let your cadet be the one who is late. All cadets have their counselors number ~ call if there will be any issues with being late. Anything regarding Run Club must be placed in a separate envelope and market Ms D - Run Club. Short sleeve t-shirts = $20 cash; Long sleeve t-shirts = $25 cash. Cadets can bring back their musical instruments, CD / radio players, batteries for the CD / radio players, and head phones. Try to label all items with their name. All CDs must be in their original cases with NO parental advisory ~ no burned CDs or IPODs. NOTE: The Academy is not responsible for lost or stolen items. We highly suggest you not have your cadet bring their prized instrument or expensive type CD player. If you do ~ its at your own risk. While on home pass, be sure to have your child see any doctor / orthodontist / urgent care that might be needed for a current illness or checkup. If your child is currently sick, be sure they see a Dr. on Friday. Also get all medicine refills done. If any medication is given to your cadet over the weekend, you MUST bring your cadets medicine bottle with you on Monday. Do NOT give your cadet cough syrup with Codeine unless it is prescribed to them by a Dr. (if prescribed, bring a note). All cadets will be drug tested on Monday...any positive drug test means they go home. NOTE: Cadets are getting flu shots this week. Please be sure you encourage / enforce their need to drink LOTS of water (keep hydrated) while at home and at the Academy. Planning for the future: If your cadet will be returning to their own high school after SYA graduation in December, we suggest you call your local school right away to ask what do I need to do to get back in school?. Also find out when school will begin after the Christmas holiday break. Make an appointment NOW to see your local school counselor. Any cadets who need to earn more credits after graduation from SYA have the option to continue through the Access program over Christmas break. This is a great way to earn even more credits. This is a voluntary option to all cadets but must commit to driving once a week to Fountain Valley. Any questions? Ask the school staff when you see them on Friday. Hope the above helps those who have been wondering about the details. Any questions? Post below or contact your cadets counselor. Enjoy your amazing weekend together...Mary
