Heres a PERSONAL NOTE from the author about this article: When my eyes were opened to this logical way of reading the Word of God, I was stunned for days and a bit dismayed that I had never seen it until I was almost forty years old. You see, I had a very intelligent son who asked me very simple questions that I could not answer. Because I had homeschooled him, he had actually learned how to read. Not just words on a page, but answering the questions: Who is the author, who is the audience, when was it written, where was it written, why was it written, and what is it saying. When we had our daily Bible study time, he would ask these questions and sometimes the answers to these questions were life-changing. Having applied some basic critical thinking skills and grammar rules, I can never read the Bible the same.
