Heres a cool record I discovered this morning. The Three - TopicsExpress

Heres a cool record I discovered this morning. The Three Dynamites, Dynamite Boogie, from 1947. This is a black R&B group with a steel guitarist (not a slide guitar player) doing much of that same thing Elmore James was doing with the slide on a standard guitar--but recorded four years before Elmore James stepped into a recording studio for the first time! Ive heard other black steel guitar players from this era, but all of them Sacred Steel players who played in the church. This aint sacred, its PROFANE, but the group behind the steel guitarist sounds like a typical sophisticated jump band of the era. Reminds me of what Freddie Roulette was doing 15-20 years later. Another one of those doesnt fit neatly in any category records...I like those.... https://youtube/watch?v=HZzq4S17jOQ
