Heres a funny story regarding my dead battery this afternoon for all the visual learners out in facebook land. Sometime last week, the lock on my minivans driver side door broke. It will be fixed on Saturday. So for awhile now, Ive had to get in through the passenger side door and shimmy shake across the front seat, much to my childrens embarrassment. Today, after work, I attempted to use the key fob to open the passenger door but it wouldnt work (of course, because of the dead battery) I went to put the key in that door but WAIT! theres no actual lock on that door. There are two on my van - drivers door and trunk. So picture if you will - my workplace parking lot. My minivan. Me - a 42 year old, 511, chubby amateur contortionist crawling through the trunk, figuring out how to close the door from the inside, throwing myself OVER the back bench seat, BETWEEN the middle captains seat, and OVER the console to the drivers seat. It was like one of those Pump It Up obstacle courses - except in work clothes, in broad daylight, in a parking lot with a couple amused college students watching you. Oh, and it wasnt until I had to do this a second time (yeah, a second time) that I realized I could put the back seat down, and make it 10x easier. Im morphing into Lucille Ball.
