Heres a little history and culture for your Saturday! :) Years ago (2005-2009) I atzec danced in a play for The Latino Theater Company at the Cathedral in Downtown LA in December of each year. I met so many amazingly talented and beautiful people. Learned a lot about my heritage and the Mexican culture. This video is of my absolute favorite scene in the play. For those of you who dont speak Spanish, Juan Diego (Sal Lopez) is being visited by the Virgin Mary, and she is asking him to tell the priests of the town to build a church in her honor. Of course, these fathers dont believe the stories he is telling of La Virgen and as he pushes him down, the priest asks What do YOU know about the crucified Christ? Juan Deigo proceeds to tell him, in the form of the most beautiful song on Earth, the story of Jesus birth, life, and death... and I cry every time.
