Heres a lost treasure for ya.. When I was a kid we used to go up to the test site on scout trips, the late Ron Spendlove was the maintenance man/care taker of US Air Force proving grounds he was one of our scout leaders.. He had a son my age also, all of us boys ( 10/12 of us) that grew up in Virgin were pretty lucky having such great scout leadership, Larry Stout and Ron sure took us boys on some great adventures, they made learning a fun.. A trip rather it be with Shane, Rons son or a scout trip, it didnt matter, once you got behind that 12 fence, the only to describe it, a boys paradise, rockets, the cockpits/front clips of most, if not all US Air force jets, army trucks, bunkers, radio and observation towers, it was heaven.. Anyway, we used to watch the reel to reel films of the tests the performed, the theater was a hanger, I think it was a big Quonset Hut, the test dummies were stored inside.. Cool as cool can get..
