Heres a nice segment of punctuated play between two heavy hitters, Piper and Serendipittie. Both dogs offer a great shake-off at the start which is exactly what I like to see during an intermission. In 4 minutes of total play, I interrupted 4-5 times (after only 45-60 secs). Each dog is then rewarded for a sit. This helps prevent play from escalating and gives both dogs a chance to practice their communication signals. Play is allowed to resume once Piper makes prolonged eye contact with me (Dip already knows the rules ;) Also, in case youre wondering why you never see this same rug twice in our living room, this is why.
