Heres a poem that I wrote when I had gone to detox for the first time.. Feel free to share and repost: Look in the mirror, only to see, A user, an addict, a grim image of me. Try to ignore, try to deny, But everyone sees it but I. Finally my admission does come, Time to be clean and get it done. I see a small glimpse of sparkle in my eye, Its hard to recover, but I must try. My life was in ruins and a wreck, Now its time to get myself in check. No more looking at myself in shame.
