Heres a pretty good Op-Ed piece in the WaPo. Im sure to some extent pretty good means I agree with it. What I disagree with is a piecemeal, state-by-state, city-by-city approach to closing the private-sale loophole to gun-sale background checks. We are far more likely to find common ground on a national level, than by parsing out an issue that a signfiicant portion of those interested consider to be a constitutional issue. I think what Im trying to say is that Michael Bloomberg is no more a part of the solution to gun violence than Wayne LaPierre, which is going to offend some of my like-minded liberal friend, but the outgoing mayor of New York just flat hasnt a bleeping clue. If he really wanted to be a part of the solution, he would have left the Big Gulps issue to someone else. He looks like the worst kind of nanny-state liberal, which is frankly one side of a statist coin that I associate with his policy of disrupting all protest at the 2004 GOP national convention. I digress.
