Heres a question for you all. I have a former client who informed me that one of my photos of them will be published in the SF Chronicle. I had originally taken the photos for use on their website, not publication elsewhere. I asked the client to get me a copy of the article for my portfolio and they said that they did not want to inconvenience the reporter. Im not getting any money out of this and was not asked permission. I will get photo credit, but it does me no good if I dont have a copy of the article for my portfolio. The client offered to just use another photo that I didnt take. My gut reaction is to tell them to do that. What would you do? On another, more positive note, I will be doing a shoot for Eater National, one of their Eater Scenes pieces and Im pretty jazzed about that. :)
