Heres a quick excerpt to hopefully convince you to read this stunning open letter to Ben Affleck over his heroics in silencing a MUCH needed debate on the medieval doctrines and practices of Islam. Some context first: the author is a woman born and raised in the Muslim tradition, so she knows what shes talking about. She just got done saying, in summary, thanks but no thanks, Ben. Youre not defending Islam by stifling debate on very real issues that negatively impact too many millions of people, all in the name of fundamentalism.
