Heres a rather arty photo taken by Martin of my interview and live performance yesterday afternoon with Ben Dyson and Jamie Wells on East Coast FM, Haddington, East Lothian, together with one of the mighty Tom Clelland playing a wonderful support set for me last night at The Royal Oak in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. Tom is one of the best songwriters Ive ever encountered, and continues to write one masterpiece after another -- last night he played a new one, Tick Tock, which is still lodged firmly in my head -- cant wait for him to get round to recording it! Tom will also be supporting me at tomorrow nights gig at Clydesdale Folk Club in the Elphinstone Hotel, Biggar, South Lanarkshire, United Kingdom -- cant wait for that either! Huge thanks to David Hossack for organising last nights concert and treating myself and Martin to a gorgeous Indian meal beforehand at the fantastic Mother India Cafe next door to the pub, and to Sam at the Royal Oak for making us so welcome. Thanks also to our great friend and supporter, Jim Welsh, also of East Coast FM, for setting up the interview and coming out to the gig. Jim and David have been two of my staunchest supporters over the years -- they were at the very first gig I ever did in Edinburgh, at the Leith Folk Club back in May 2009, and theyve both come out to just about every one of my nine return visits to this great city! So lovely to see them both again, as well as Tom …. Tonights a night off, so as is our wont, were spending the day in a Travelodge, catching up with admin. Ive already mentioned tomorrows gig; Friday Ill be making a return visit to the village hall in Cullipool, Argyll And Bute, United Kingdom, and on Saturday Ill be doing a concert at Lanercost Cricket Club near Brampton, Cumbria, United Kingdom, where I still cant quite believe that my support act will be guitar legend Michael Chapman, whos also very kindly putting us up that night!
