Heres a short-listed 100-word story entry from last years competition. Paul Josephs story is called Into the Wind. “It’s time!” the pilot shouted, momentarily swinging his head back in excited anguish. “This is your last shot, I need to head back.” Jerry feverishly got up and grabbed the safety rail by the door. He gave the handle a firm downward jerk and slid the door open. Wind immediately gushed in with force, instinctively causing Jerry to tighten his grip on the rail. “Wish me luck,” Jerry shouted above the sound of the wind and whirring engine. At that he let go of the handrail and leapt out, it was pure bliss as his figure faded into the distance. Keen to write your own 100-word story? Send your entries in by 31 December, 2014.
