Heres a site thats great for all those new to MTBing. Its called Bikeradar bikeradar. It has lots of free advice about bike set up, purchase, riding tips etc. For those who now realise that their old clunker will not quite make it around the fun little easy trails Paul loves and you want a new bike that complies with the Ride to Work scheme. bikeradar/gear/article/best-mountain-bikes-under-1000-29222/ Now, if youve found a bargain on eBay or Pinkbikes but want to know more, use Bikeradar (and others) to suss (geddit) it out. Skills? Well theres just getting out there and riding but I am a massive fan of coaching. Basic and intermediate skills, I do recommend getmountainbiking.co.uk All welcome and they run women only classes too. :) Instruction is at Woburn and other fun places. For those who want to do more, I have used Tom Dowie tomdowie/coaching/ for a 2 hour private lesson, £45. Outstanding value. (Chicksands)
