Heres a small soapstone piece, entitled The Egg. At roughly 6x5x3.5 it clearly shows my fascination with figures emerging from stone. This piece evolved, over a period of time, from an egg with a huge Raven sitting on it, originally entitled Metaphor for Menopause. It felt so important and I wasnt sure what to expect. But really, not much changed. One day, I went into the studio, cut off the Raven, (you trickster you), and carved out the wings and let the figure emerge. I know, I know. But thats how it happened.
