Heres a summer math question for you...proof that 2 X 2 = 5. If x and y are each equal to “1,” then 2 (x² - y²) = 0 and 5 (x - y) = 0. Therefore 2 (x² - y² ) = 5 (x - y). Now divide each side of this equation by (x - y). { Remember the Difference of Squares: (x² - y²) = (x - y) (x + y) } So 2 (x + y) = 5. But (x + y) = (1 + 1), i.e. = 2. So that 2 times 2 = 5.
