Heres a technique I stumbled across which I contemplated not sharing with the world.... Hate using the ProE/Creo Import data doctor? Dont use it anymore. After importing your model and setting your accuracy to Absolute, reload the import feature a second time and replace all surfaces. Ive had the gnarliest of automotive parts come in nearly perfect using this method. A trick I stumbled across after being on ProEngineer for 15 years. Wish I stumbled across it 15 years ago, would have saved thousands of hours repairing crappy-ass models, mostly from Catia. The only case Ive had to enter IDD doing this method, was some tiny .005 or smaller radii importing as a solid sphere. They were recognized as a separate entity from the import quilt, I just blew them away and KAPOW! Repair open surface gaps, check the turn to solid check box under Feature Properties and there ya go! And BTW - .0005 absolute accuracy is the cats meow.
