Heres a testament to why I love telling runners stories! On May 30th, I was hired to shoot the Festival of Miles track meet video. Each year, FOMs proceeds go to help a runner in need, and I filmed Brads story, too. This year, the recipient was Brad Eastman, an athlete who was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Today, I received this update from Brad (excerpt): Hey all! Nothing medically new to report, still just kicking tumor ass one day at a time. Ive actually been able to start working out again. Havent started running yet, but Im back in the pool on a fairly regular basis pounding out the laps. In a matter of weeks Ill be up to a mile in the pool and ready to lace up the shoes to log some road miles...cant wait! On that light note, wanted to share the video that was produced from the Festival of Miles event back in May. Dont think Im going to win any Academy awards for this performance, but I guess its not bad for 6 weeks out from major brain surgery). Its a testament to EVERYONE in my life who has been so caring and supportive through these past months! Special thanks to the entire Festival of Miles Board and WendyCity Productions for making me look and sound better than I probably was/am. You all are so amazingly kind and so thoughtful for considering Sarah and I to be be beneficiaries of such a great organization, THANK YOU!
