Heres a tip: If you know youre going to use a certain contractor to do a job, please dont waste other contractors time by asking for estimates just because you heard somewhere that you need to get 3 estimates. Three estimates are for people that dont have a contractor they have trust and confidence in. If you have that, please go with that contractor and save everyone the time and trouble. Conversely, if you tell a contractor that youre going to get more estimates, what he hears is I DONT HAVE TRUST AND CONFIDENCE IN YOU. Which is fine if we dont know each other. I think its probably wise on your part if weve never done business before and I havent earned that trust & confidence yet. In that case I would expect you to get three estimates: I already assume everyone is anyway, and I am quite comfortable competing for your business, I do it every day and I dont take ANY offense to it. I ENJOY earning your business. But if you KNOW youre going to use someone else, please dont call me. You and I can find more productive things to do with our time besides roll play like youre interviewing me to actually do some work at your home and then sending me home with several hours of homework to do.
