Heres a whole page with dozens of comments from hunters explaining why they want body grip traps regulated in Minnesota. Many say they are refusing to hunt on Minnesota public lands for fear of losing their dogs to a trap. There is simply no reason not to enact common sense safety regulations for Conibear traps. The MN DNR is allowing a small lobby of trappers to set policy here, and that is shameful. The DNR can change its tune without being coerced, but if we dont see some progress here, leadership of the DNR should expect some heavy public backlash and calls for resignations.
