Heres a wonderful story about local police and hotel staff working together to ensure safety: I would just like to commend the Caledon Square Police Station, Major Zama, Constable Thabela and all the Staff, together with the Management and Staff of the Victoria Protea Junction Hotel for the way they handled the crisis that myself, my family and friends faced on Saturday, leading into Sunday morning. My husband has a memory problem and disappeared from the CTICC on Saturday afternoon at about 14:00, after walking the city of Cape Town for hours, he eventually landed at the Victoria Junction Protea at 01:00 on Sunday and there the staff were kind enough to allow him to stay until daybreak. The manager on duty contacted the Seapoint Police and they said that there was a missing persons report filed at Caledon and they came to fetch him. We got the call from Constable Thabela & Major Zama who went that extra mile. I would just like to report that my husband was fine, a bit disorientated. The staff at Victoria Junction offered him refreshments throughout the night and even breakfast in the morning, but he declined. A big big thank you to Josie, Keegan and Samantha at Protea Junction and to Major Zama & staff at the Caledon Square Police Station, a big big thank you. I dont even want to imagine what could have happened, had it not been for the compassion shown by the staff at Protea Hotel Victoria Junction.
