Heres an example of textures used to make an illustration. A - TopicsExpress

Heres an example of textures used to make an illustration. A friend needed an email poster invitation made for a haunted house event in late September; I use this an example to demo what I sometimes do when given a commissioned illustration assignment. (This is just the basic illustration; all the other info about location and time, and the logos needed, are unnecessary for this demo, but of course were used for the final poster.) I quickly set up a photo shoot with some props in my basement. (Since, after all, Halloween is my favorite holiday and I always work hard to have the creepiest house in the neighborhood, I have lots of available props.) The photo was made with 6x7 camera app (from Jag.gr, who also make the 645 PRO app). Then the photo was very loosely painted, to make a texture, in CleverPainter. Detail was added back in, but I wanted it to stay rough and creepy. I sue CleverPainter regularly to make hand-painted textures; you can paint over a photo with a very broad brush, which keeps the color values but randomizes and clouds shapes. Then SnapSeed was used to add grunge texture, and light leaks. SnapSeed is really a very good app for adding textures, as well as for adjusting and editing images, so dont overlook its potential as a texture maker. I also added saturation and contrast to this image, using SnapSeed. Finally, a caption was added using TitleFX. Are you ready? Well, are you? 6x7, CleverPainter, SnapSeed, TitleFX
