Heres an excerpt of tomorrows sermon entitled, A Faith Worth SEEING Part II (Mark 2:1-5) from the #LOL: Living Out Loud Series at Abyssinian Missionary Baptist Church --- ...Mark says that they go to the house of worship, it’s too packed for them to get it, but they don’t pack up and go home. Too many of us, would’ve left... complaining! Too many of us get too discouraged when things do go according to OUR plans. And often times OUR plans involve us doing the least amount of work we have to do. OUR plans involve us cheer-leading while God does the work. Then we try to manipulate God into signing off on OUR plans. I’ve been in conversations with several people who are lamenting (and complaining) because they prayed to God requesting something (never mind the fact that most of them haven’t practiced any tangible spiritual discipline PRIOR to making their request). And after they prayed and begged (in their attempts to manipulate God) they didn’t received what they prayed for. Now they’re upset; discontent; blaming God and criticizing the faith. They never gave any thought or credence to the possibility that God (in God’s loving wisdom) just simply had a DIFFERENT and more DIVINE response to their request. Their answer was accessible, it simply required overcoming the inconvenient. That’s why we have to learn the difference between a DENIAL and a DETOUR! In the text, it’s not that the brothers no longer have access to Jesus. In spite of the obstacle, they still can get their request granted. They just have to get to Jesus by overcoming the inconvenient... #MEETMEATABC
