Heres an incomplete thought on women in ministry that just occurred to me. I think I have a different take on it because Im not into ministry defined by or operating in the context of positions, titles, and larger scripted gatherings. At this point in my life Im more into friendship happening in organic ways and smaller gatherings, not to bash other approaches but thats where Im at. I dont know where Im going with this but I think many of the issues that arise in organized denominational contexts surrounding the question of women in ministry are moot when its abunch of families and singles who are real friends, getting together in each others homes, and relating in ways that people normally relate. What would be some examples. Um, women teaching from the front...when there is no front. Female pastors...when it isnt a position or title, its just caring for people. Female apostles...when its just someone who makes disciples who make more disciples and multiply as groups. Female clergy...when there is no clergy/laity distinction and every believer functions as a priest. End of incomplete thought.
